LOOQS

LOOQS

LOOQS was established in 2009. The company distributed and marketed digital lifestyle products worldwide. The main focus of the company was multi-room and multimedia solutions.

LOOQS offered a range of multimedia storage and streaming solutions, such as digital photo frames, network attached storage devices and digital media adapters.

The LOOQS brand and all activities were discontinued at the end of 2011. I have included LOOQS as there may be many of these products still available online.

Location of Company:

The headquarters of the company was in The Netherlands with branches located in the US, Germany, Hungary and Portugal.

Company Mission:

The 'Q' in LOOQS stood for Quintessential.

LOOQS desired to "enable consumers to readily experience the freedom, the excitement and the empowerment of the connected lifestyle."

Company Products:

The MeeFrame MF-801W Wireless Digital Photo Frame:

The MeeBox:

LOOQS MeeBox NAS and Router

The MeeBox came in 2 forms:

  • The Meebox NAS (network attached storage):
    • Used to centrally download, store, manage and access media files for streaming throughout the house on connected devices on a home network.
    • A USB printer could be connected to MeeBox and all computers within that same network could share the printer.
    • The MeeBox could be accessed through the Internet from anywhere in the world.
    • It ran an FTP server and had an integrated HTTP web-based file manager.
    • MeeBox ran as an UPnP media server and acted as an iTunes server as well.
    • The MeeBox could also have been used as a web server to host your own website(s) directly on MeeBox.

  • MeeBox Router:
  • This version of the MeeBox had all the features of the MeeBox NAS but with an integrated and full-function router with 802.11b/g support and 4 Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and wireless access point. With the MeeBox Router, multiple network devices could be connected wireless simultaneously.

Consumer reviews of the products listed above generally state that some of the software needed improvement in order to function optimally.

Unfortunately, the LOOQS brand and all activities were discontinued at the end of 2011.

For product support questions and warranty matters, it is suggested that the online retailer where the product was bought be contacted.
