For me, photos are the very best way to share, especially when there is an important occasion to record.

How I got started...

At Christmas, before she was two years old, I gave my granddaughter a small digital photo cube I had loaded with pictures of our family.

She was easily able to operate this very simple object and in a short time, she could match the names and pictures of all of her extended family, even her half-brothers, who she doesn't get to see very often. She just had to take it to bed with her!

This one gift literally changed my life and it inspired me to share this wonderful gift with as many of you as possible.

Only a few years ago, this product was rarely seen in stores. People who bought them, or were given one as a gift, often left them to sit in their original boxes because the technology was still too new and challenging. And it certainly didn't help that the instruction manuals were sparsely documented or did not exist at all!

Today, the degree of competition among manufacturers has led to the production of very good quality products with an increasing number of innovative features. At the same time, prices continue to drop, making them much more affordable for everyone.

That said, the sheer number and types of these products can make choosing one an intimidating venture! To make matters worse, many of the features included with a large number of frames do not measure up well to the promises made by their manufacturers. Poor image display quality, difficult set up procedures and software glitches are not uncommon.

Before purchasing one of these products, it is also important to understand that a digital picture frame can become the focal point of any room. Make sure the digital frame you choose will fit in well with its surroundings. If possible, bring a loaded memory card from your camera to try on the frame in the store. This way you can check for the desired image quality or any other features you may decide on.

Always keep your receipt, whether from a brick and mortar store or an online purchase so that you can try the product out for a few days to make sure it is a right fit for you.
